2014 Letter to Alumni

In efforts to get more of the current team involved and create a more competitive match, The 2014 GVSU Old Boys Game will be held on Saturday April 12th at 3pm.

Note - we would have liked to move it up just one week to the 19th but that is Easter weekend this year.

Our main hotel will be the Days Inn in Grandville (book online HERE) near the intersection of 28th St and I-196.  A secondary hotel will be the Sleep Inn in Allendale. We were unable to reserve blocks of rooms at either locations. One benefit is that it is not graduation weekend but I encourage you to make your reservation ASAP.

We will plan on having the Friday Night Social at the Current Teams Rugby house on Lake Michigan Dr west of Allendale, more details to come on that. The game will be on Saturday afternoon at the Outdoor Recreation and Athletic Field (C6 on the MAP) at 3pm.  Everybody bring your gear, traditionally we play 4 :20 min quarters and substitute liberally. Remember, they will have their full squad and it will be tough to keep up our undefeated streak so maybe take a couple jogs before then...

The banquet will be at Lincoln Lanes that evening (official times TBD).  Tickets will be available for purchase via PayPal (links to the right of the page).  They are $25 in advance and $30 the day of and will cover Dinner and Beer. Current Men's and Women's Team members may purchase their ticket for $10. Your purchase is your RSVP, RSVP by April 4th.  You can also make a donation if you are unable to attend.  You do not need to have a PayPal account.  All you need is an e-mail.

Everyone is encouraged to clean up before dinner. The highlight of the evening as always, is the nearly world famous rugby auction. The auction is only possible with YOUR donations, so remember to bring at least one item (new or used) to be auctioned and a few bucks.  Several of us have real jobs with real companies so it may be worth it to ask for a donation of an item for the auction, gift cards, or swag.
