2013 Letter to Alumni

The time has come to prepare for the 2013 GVSU Rugby Old Boys Weekend. More details to come but here's what we have set for now.

It will be the weekend of April 26th, 2013.  Our main hotel will be the Days Inn in Grandville near the intersection of 28th St and I-196.  We were unable to secure the Sleep Inn in Allendale due to various noise complaints last year.  We will treat this as the main hotel and I encourage everyone to reserve their room ASAP.  We could not reserve a block and there are already several other hotels that are all booked due to graduation.  You can book online HERE.

The other details are the same as last year.  We will get together Friday evening beginning with an E-Board Meeting followed by a social event at a local establishment. The game will be on Saturday afternoon at the Outdoor Recreation and Athletic Field (C6 on the MAP), estimated at 3pm but still to be confirmed.  Everybody bring your gear, traditionally we play 4 :20 min quarters and substitute liberally.

The banquet will be at Lincoln Lanes that evening (official times TBD).  Tickets will be available for purchase via PayPal (links to the right of the page).  They are $25 in advance and $30 the day of and will cover Dinner and Beer. Current Men's and Women's Team members may purchase their ticket for $10. Your purchase is your RSVP, RSVP by April 15th.  You can also make a donation if you are unable to attend.  You do not need to have a PayPal account.  All you need is an e-mail.

Everyone is encouraged to clean up before dinner. The highlight of the evening as always, is Matt Bishop and the nearly world famous rugby auction. The auction is only possible with YOUR donations, so remember to bring at least one item (new or used) to be auctioned and a few bucks.  We are also working on a few other activities for the evening.

Last year we saw the most original members return with 10!  Scoops, Claus, Haus, Chalupo, Larsen, Cobra, Miles, Nate, Payne, and Coach.  Lets see if we can get a whole side this year!
